A distinctive riverfront mansion in a prized location along one of the Glitter Strip’s priciest streets has sold under the hammer for $10.8 million.
Six bidders vied for the keys to the luxury Surfers Paradise estate, which was owned by an interstate company director who never moved into the trophy home.
Auctioneer and Ray White Surfers Paradise chair Andrew Bell took an opening offer of $7m for the commanding Hamptons-style home at the group’s in-room auctions.
Mr Bell said bids were “free-flowing” even as the sale price hit eight figures, indicating the continued strength of the Gold Coast prestige market.

“Sometimes, in an uncertain market, you’ll notice people are nervous so they bid more slowly, but that was not the case,” Mr Bell said.
“There was very strong bidding and it was a reflection of the market.”
The local buyer’s identity has not been disclosed.
The five-bedroom, four-bathroom property at 125 Commodore Dr was marketed by Ray White Surfers Paradise agent, Robbie Graham, and last changed hands for $10.5m in June 2022.
Property records show the glamorous home on an 836sq m allotment in Paradise Waters is registered to the company name, GC Properties Australia Pty Ltd.
Denis Midor, of Toorak, is listed as the sole director.

Mr Midor is also registered as the director of Softmed, a Melbourne medical goods supplier which in 2020 pivoted its production lines to manufacture face masks and other PPE to support Australia through the Covid-19 pandemic.
The vendor was not present at the auction, where a “floating reserve” was met by the highest bidder when the hammer fell.
Designed by renowned architect Jared Poole, the three-storey house has views over one of the widest sections of Gold Coast waterways.
The layout includes formal and informal areas both indoors and out, with multiple living zones across three levels, as well as a study, gymnasium and ground floor guest suite.
