A GOLD Coast vendor who was “uncontactable” during the auction of his house has managed to sell his property the next day for $6 million.
Ivy Realty’s Ivy Wu and Issac Kim took 126 Amalfi Drive, Isle of Capri to auction over the weekend in front of an excited crowd.
But it quickly took a turn when they were unable to contact the seller.

“The owner was overseas and we spoke to him the day before letting him know that the auction will start at 11am and to make sure he was available as we will need his instructions,” Mr Kim said.
“We had three registered bidders and we got the bid up to $5.65 million then obviously there was still a fair bit of gap we had to work on.
“We tried calling the owner multiple times but we couldn’t get in touch with him.
“It’s just unheard of and something I will never forget.”

Auctioneer Nigel Long said it was only the third auction he had called in his almost 15-year career where the vendor could not be contacted.
“I just explained to the crowd that we were having telephone communication issues,” Mr Long said.
“It’s not the first time and it won’t be the last.
“I had to hand the real estate back to the agents and welcome a conditional outcome.”

The agents got hold of the vendor later that afternoon after the property was passed in.
“We ended up negotiating with one of the potential buyers and it took us 36 hours to get the deal done,” Mr Kim said.
“It sold for $6 million.
“We thought an interstate buyer would pay a premium price for it but a local buyer ended up winning in the end.”

The five-bedroom house has a raft of luxury features from a media room and wine room, to a pontoon and riverside pool.
Property records reveal the house sold for $4.5 million in September, 2020.
It was also one of the most expensive rentals on the Gold Coast, previously listed at $4500 per week in June, 2022.
