A GOLD Coast property with a slice of Palm Springs luxury has sold under the hammer for $3.425 million in a street record.

Kollosche agents Sam Guo and Julia Kuo took the property to auction where it attracted seven registered bidders and a huge crowd.

“We actually had 118 people attend the auction,” Mr Guo said.

“A local Gold Coast couple ended up buying the property — they paid $15,000 more than the underbidders.”

The sale price smashed the previous highest sale in the street by $1.325 million.

Mr Guo said new builds that were unique and pushed design boundaries were still attracting plenty of interest.

“We find anything that’s new and modern are still doing really well,” he said.

“I think a lot of people don’t want to go through the trouble of uilding and want something that’s already finished and ready to go.”

From limestone exterior walls and sweeping curves to light and bright interior spaces, the home has been crafted to bring a touch of glamour and effortless style to its sought-after waterfront location.

Vendor Rosie Gillespie was the visionary behind the newly built home, and said it was inspired by the mid-century modern architecture encapsulated in the Palm Springs style.

“High-end homes are really on-trend on the Gold Coast at the moment, and we felt the Palm Springs style beautifully complemented the coastal lifestyle while allowing us to use natural materials and high-end features,” she said.

Ms Gillespie also drew inspiration from the property’s waterfront location, with the home positioned to take in views across the lake to the city skyline and Gold Coast Hinterland.

“The aspect of the home is stunning and we knew we could get views from the second storey right through to Broadbeach,” she said.

The home is on a 949sq m block which Ms Gillespie managed to snap up in a stroke of good fortune.

“It was mid-Covid when we purchased and a contract on the property had fallen through. We were attracted to the size of the block of land as we knew it would give us a big footprint to build a spacious, yet private home.”

Inside, Ms Gillespie’s design focus revolved around creating light-filled expansive spaces.

“This sense of space gives the home a grand feel and sense of openness,” Ms Gillespie said.

“It feels like you’re on a tropical holiday, which definitely suits the style of the Gold Coast.”

When it comes to the interior and exterior finishes, Ms Gillespie said no expense had been spared, with features including onyx kitchen benchtops, parquetry flooring, curved walls, and arched doorways.

The open plan lower-level lounge and dining areas extend out to a deck with outdoor kitchen, which overlooks an infinity edge swimming pool and the lake beyond.

Latest PropTrack data reveals Benowa’s median house price is $1.465 million, up 6.1 per cent over 12 months.

The latest PropTrack Home Price Index shows national values continued to stabilise in April for the fourth consecutive month, rising 0.14 per cent.

The cumulative increase in 2023 is now 0.75 per cent, with strong migration, tight rental markets and limited supply offsetting the impact of rapid interest rate rises.
